Marriage is an important transitional stage in the life of a person. 1. Love Marriage – What is it?
Love marriage may be defined as the association of two individuals based on love and romance. It is the situation, where the couple falls in love with each other initially and then ties the sacred knot of marriage. Both the girl and the boy get the opportunity to spend ample quality time with each other. And, it is when they feel that both of them are made for each other or are simply the perfect match for each other and they can spend their whole lives with each other, they decide to get married. This is how the definition of love marriage goes.
2. Facts on Love Marriage
A lot of research studies take place in various parts of the globe on this topic. And, many results are obtained and several conclusions are drawn. According to a research survey carried out by several research institutes, the LOVE mostly reaches the peak during the initial days of affair and getting married, which eventually starts waning with the gradual passage of the years and the divorce rate keeps on increasing. However, another research work states that more than 80 percent of people of the Western countries tend to fall in love first and then get married. So, is love marriage – a boon or a bane? What do you say?
3. Love Marriage Merits
One of the basic merits of love marriage is that there exists no parental influence to select your soul mate. It is completely the couple’s decision to choose the life partner. Since, the couple tends to date and spend time with each other before getting married they become well acquainted with the needs, feelings and habits of each other. This helps the couples to develop a better level of understanding among each other. The level of adjustment rises considerably. The couples make every single attempt to solve their conflicts themselves since it is entirely their decision to stay together. Do you think love marriage is a boon?
4. Love Marriage Demerits
The level of expectation in a love marriage rises considerably. When this level does not get fulfilled, inter personal conflicts arise. Since, the decision of marriage is entirely theirs, they seldom get any support from their families. The love gradually tends to decline giving way to clashes. Many a time, the couples face a problem of acceptance from their in-laws during the initial years. Also, couples generally do not look after the social and financial status while falling in love. But, these impose a great threat in the couple’s life after marriage.
5. Love Marriage – a Boon or a Bane?
So, what do you think? Is love marriage a boon? Or is it a bane? Should a couple opt for love marriage? Are they confident about the life partners they choose? Or should they stick to arranged marriage, where decision is taken based on personal values, family priorities and social status? Well, whichever option one chooses, it is essential that the decision is spontaneous. It is the question of the lives of two individuals and their families. No any kind of pressure or influence must prevail here.
As the proverb goes, “Marriages are made in heaven”. It is the responsibility of the couples to avoid the misunderstandings, sort out the differences and make their lives happy, healthy and heavenly with each other.
