How to Prevent Wrinkles Using the Proper Face Cream

17Shares

Arguably, one of the most important factors of beauty is clear, young-looking skin. Nowadays, there is a standard to look fresh faced and wrinkle-free at all times despite one’s age – especially for women. With the help of serums that enhance facial elasticity, lines and wrinkles can be prevented longer in order to achieve this look.

How Do Wrinkles Develop?

The development of wrinkles is not a matter of days or even months. It is a gradual process that takes place over many years. The constant movement of your facial muscles produces fine lines and creases. When you’re young, your face’s inherent elasticity is strong and therefore, it is more difficult for wrinkles to produce. Collagen and elastin play a part because they are two of the most important proteins found in your skin. These two proteins are collectively in charge of maintaining the elasticity naturally present in your skin. But, as soon as you reach a certain age, your body’s production rate of these proteins starts declining. This decline is a continual process and decreases at the rate of around 1% every year. It gradually reduces the firmness of your skin and transforms the fine lines and creases into permanent wrinkles, if not taken care of in a preventative manner.

The Role of Collagen, Elastin and Aging

Collagen, elastin, and the aging process work in tandem and are the deciding factors for the amount of wrinkles on your face. Collagen, a fibrous protein, keeps the firmness and suppleness of your skin. Its gradual reduction causes the skin to get less firm and supple, promoting the formation of wrinkles. Elastin, on the other hand, is responsible for bringing the skin back to its original shape after being stretched from the perpetual movement of facial muscles. Aging itself is not the primary cause of face wrinkles. There are people who develop fine lines and face wrinkles even at the young age of 20. On the contrary, some people will not develop a wrinkled face until they hit their 40’s or later. It is actually the low level of the skin proteins – not the other contributors like genetics, skin condition, and lifestyle – that cause face wrinkles to become permanent.

How to Get Rid of Wrinkles?

In our present beauty industry, there are multiple opportunities to combat wrinkles. Options like an anti aging serum are available to people looking to restore their youthful appearance. For the fast removal of wrinkles, the following methods will also provide assistance in fighting the formation of lines on your skin.

·         Microdermabrasion method

With microdermabrasion, your skin is blasted with micro crystals of aluminum oxide by using a powerful vacuum. This method is typically painless and non-invasive, promoting the production and growth of new cells by stimulating the blood circulation to that area. Furthermore, this form of treatment gives immediate results after the process. The only side effect can be the ordinary mild redness that usually vanishes within an hour or so. It is also important to mention that this is a periodical treatment, since the dead skin cells will still accumulate after a few weeks. Unfortunately, this method only works well with fine lines and not with permanent creases.

·         A chemical peel method

Chemical peels ensure more effective and longer-lasting results than those by microdermabrasion. During this treatment, professionals use a strong acidic solution to burn the first few layers of the wrinkled skin. This causes the top skin layers to break down completely and reveal the smoother, tighter underlying layers of the skin. The strength of the solution and the consequent depth of the burn depend on the intensity of the wrinkles. The deeper the wrinkles, the more concentrated the solution. Drawbacks of this method include slight discomfort and a potentially longer healing time.

·         The filler method

If the wrinkles are extremely deep, the only solution left is the use of fillers such as collagen, hyaluronic acid serum, your own body fat, etc. With this method, a dermatologist directly injects the filler into the wrinkle to fill it and smooth out the ridge. The fillings can sometimes cause bruising, swelling, or redness in the treated areas, but typically only for a couple of days at most.

The aforementioned are the most effective methods to prevent, combat, or get rid of wrinkles.
