4. Progesterone

The increased level of the testosterone is another main cause of weight gain in women. A disorder, polycystic ovarian syndrome, is mainly responsible for this increased level. Along with the problem of weight gain, the hormone is responsible for other problems too. They include facial hair, menstrual disorders, acne and infertility. During menopause also, testosterone level comes down, due to which, the rate of metabolism decreases. This, in turn, also leads to increase in the body weight. So treat your PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) well.
